ADA: A HR PERSPECTIVE FOR LIBRARIES

This workshop, from 9:30 am-12:00 pm, will discuss the basics of the ADA, including which employees are covered by the Act, when employers must make accommodations under the Act and what are those required accommodations. Then, we’ll focus on accommodation issues that may cause confusion for library administrators, including dealing with telecommuting requests, accommodating mental disabilities, providing reassignment to a vacant position, and requests for extended medical leaves. You will leave this session with a better understanding of the law and renewed confidence in handling a variety of ADA-related issues. Presented by Management Association.
