BUILDING AN ACCESSIBLE METROPOLITAN CHICAGO: “LISTEN AND LEARN” FOR DESIGNERS

Please join the celebration of ADA 25 Chicago, helping to build public awareness in the design community, and excellence in universally accessible built environments.

On November 18, 2015, Terry Guen Design Associates (TGDA), a Chicago-based Landscape Architecture Studio, as a proud program partner with ADA 25 Chicago, will present “Listen and Learn” for Designers. This event features our special guest, Joe Russo, Deputy Commissioner of the City of Chicago’s Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities (MOPD), in direct discussion with leading designers from Chicago’s landscape architecture, architecture, and civil engineering community.

This event will include an MOPD sneak-preview of upcoming changes to Chicago’s 2016 ADA guidelines. This “Listen and Learn” also will feature leading design professionals discussing practice challenges, future visions, and examples of integrated, inclusive design. Following the panel discussion, questions from the audience will be taken as time allows. Speakers include:

Brad McCauley, Principal, site design group, ltd.

Tom Kracun, Vice President, David Mason & Associates, Inc.

Jack Catlin, Partner, LCM Architects

The event is sponsored by the Illinois Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects and is accredited for 1.5 continuing education credits from both ILASLA and AIA Chicago.
