JAPAN – U.S. DISCUSSION ON DISABILITY RIGHTS

Monday, August 3, 2015 at 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.

In recognition of the 25th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, CSCI and Access Living will co-host a panel and reception to celebrate the anniversary and its impact on people with disabilities around the world, featuring Ms. Emi Uchimura from Muchu CIL (Osaka) and Kathleen Borland, Chair of the Social Services Committee of CSCI.

In 1985 Access Living participated in the first Japan – U.S. exchange. Over the years the emerging partnership has strengthened services and rights for people with disabilities in both countries. The Japan Council on Independent Living Centers is returning to Chicago with a delegation of disability leaders for this event.
