The Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago will present “”The ADA at 25; Where We Are Now” to its Peer Alliance group who are young adults with epilepsy, most of whom were not born when the ADA was signed into legislation, but who may deal with workplace and other discriminatory situations and may not know the rights afforded to them under the ADA.

The film was selected to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act for its imaginative thematic treatment of disability and conformity. Millennium Park presents outdoor movies on its state-of-the-art, 40-foot LED screen as part of the Summer Film Series. Chicagoans and visitors are invited to take a seat at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion or enjoy the show from the Great Lawn. For the first time ever, this year’s film series will be captioned.

25TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE ADA: A LOOK AT KEY CASES

EQUIP FOR EQUALITY & THE CHICAGO BAR FOUNDATION

Since the ADA was passed in 1990, many significant cases have been decided by the courts that have shaped how the ADA has been interpreted and implemented. To commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the ADA, Equip for Equality and the Illinois ADA Project will take a look back at the most influential ADA cases by first reviewing the facts and ruling of these cases, and then discussing the broader impact the cases have had.
