ADOPT and CIRCA Pintig will hold a community dialogue featuring testimonials from people with disabilities from Asian, immigrant and/or refugee communities about their experiences in accessing vocational rehabilitation services and finding a job.
Through an interactive discussion, members of ADOPT, DRS-VR providers, advocates, allies, and multicultural partner agencies will highlight the on-going challenges as well as the successes of diversifying our workforce. Anticipated outcomes of this call for action are to: (1) minimize the cultural stigma associated with disability; (2) dispel myths surrounding disability in our communities, and (3) inform and empower multicultural individuals with disabilities and their allies about their rights to pursue work and/or to advance in their careers.
