Audubon plans 3 events that introduce an accessible option to interested participants through new ways to experience birding in the Chicago area. From tours on wheelchair accessible trails, to aural bird walks, birding can be for everyone, and provides enjoyment and independence through exploration, access and education. Audubon’s goal is to provide an introduction to birding, and impart the skills necessary to experience birds wherever they are and whenever they want. While any new adventure can be intimidating, Audubon’s inclusive birding events will demonstrate that Chicago’s natural areas and wildlife are accessible, and experiencing them is a public right.
