INTERNSHIP & TRAINING PROJECT
BLUE1647’s project will concentrate on education, experience and internship/job opportunities for people with disabilities interested in technology, that are also unemployed for more than 6-months. Our project provides 6-10 week immersive software programming, and IT certification courses to people with disabilities, with companies sponsoring and providing internships or employment to participants at the end of the course. Our aim is to seek company sponsors, and train people with disabilities in both our Re-Connect Employment Assistance program and Code Chicago Part-time Accelerated Coding Bootcamp - and close the gap between access to relevant, technical education and employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
BLUE1647 is an entrepreneurship and technology innovation center that fosters economic development in technology and 21st Century skills through people development (classes, workshops, and events around technology), workforce development (through youth and adult technology programs to prepare individuals for high-demand jobs) and Business Acceleration (through shared co-working services).
