CDA is committed to creating a more accessible aviation experience. This year CDA installed an air-side service animal relief area at O’Hare Airport for travelers with disabilities. The animal relief area will ease the traveling experience for individuals with disabilities with service animals and demonstrates the City of Chicago’s commitment to move beyond current ADA requirements. Only a handful of airports nationally now have air-side animal relief areas. An announcement of the animal relief area can be found at www.cityofchicago.org/disabilities
CDA will also be making additional improvements to the wheelchair accessible taxi cue line and installing additional visual displays for individuals who are deaf and hard of hearing and cannot access audible airport announcements.
