BUILDING A DISABILITY FRIENDLY CHINATOWN
Beginning in May 2015, CASL will conduct a needs assessment within the Chinatown community to find out more about the needs of the community in regards to disability services and how CASL can help bridge the service gaps in the near future. The goal of this assessment is to lead to the development of a long-term plan where a permanent program to serve people with disabilities is implemented at CASL for the next five years. The assessment will begin in May 2015, and conclude in May 2016.
CASL also looks to increase the awareness of people with disabilities among its staff members. As the agency expands to provide more services, and with the recent launch of a new program to help people with disabilities find employment, it is imperative for CASL staff members to increase their knowledge and awareness of issues that people with disabilities are experiencing and the resources available to them.
