The College of Lake County attempts to create a 'welcoming' environment, one which supports inclusion as well as accessibility. The College plans to outfit their Southlake campus, located in Vernon Hills, with audio signage through the Step-Hear system, with an estimated completion date of July 1, 2015. Funded by the CLC Foundation, this system consists of speakers located at strategic locations that may be activated remotely by a blind individual. The speaker will then provide either brief or elaborate directions and orientation to the campus environment.
