IES CHICAGO LUMINAIRE COMPETITION
The Illuminating Engineering Society – Chicago will be hosting a design competition this summer and will include an award for “Best Design for People with Disabilities.” We hope with this award will build awareness about designing more inclusive built environments for people of all abilities.
IES Chicago will be sending out a call for entries for a luminaire design competition with awards given to eligible submissions in each of the following categories: “Most Innovative”, “Best Decorative”, “Most Functional” and “Best Design for People with Disabilities”.
Entrants will be provided with an LED light source to complete their project and will need to submit a concept statement, inspiration images, concept sketches/drawings, photos of the final product, list of materials used, and a working full size or scaled model of the luminaire. Awards will be given at the IES Chicago Section Awards Banquet in the fall and final products will be showcased.
July 20th - Applications Due & pick up LED source
August 28th – Project submissions Due
September 24 – IES Awards Dinner
