ITKAN is working with Microtrain and BLUE1647 on two separate training initiatives for this year. Working with several corporate sponsors (exs; PepsiCo, Blue Cross) ITKAN will establish clear intern programs with the aim that these internships develop into hiring opportunities for appropriately qualified and trained ITKAN members. ITKAN's 2015 initiative to support ADA 25 Chicago is the creation and deployment of early training-to-intern-to-hire tech curricula for qualified people with disabilities who are members of ITKAN. ITKAN is an open group and welcomes anyone with a passion for IT.
ITKAN launched in early 2008 as a professional development and networking group focused on the disability community with a passion for technology. It is a program of the Illinois Technology Foundation (ITF), a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the development of the technology talent pipeline in the State of Illinois. ITKAN is a member-driven professional networking, growth and placement organization with a focus on professionals and aspiring professionals with disabilities within the technology field! We meet face-to-face on the 2nd Thursday of each month from 5-7PM CST at the Microsoft Technology Center in Chicago.
