LINCOLN PARK ZOO PROGRAMS
DREAMNIGHT AT THE ZOO: ANIMAL SUPERHEROES
Lincoln Park Zoo has partnered with Lurie Children’s Hospital, Comer Children’s Hospital, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation to invite children and their families to the zoo on the evening of September 15 for DreamNight at the Zoo: Animal Superheroes.
GUIDED SENSORY WALKTHROUGH
Lincoln Park Zoo is piloting a sensory tour for guests with visual impairments. The tour is a 30-minute Guided Sensory Walkthrough of the Regenstein African Journey building. The zoo’s expert educators provide rich verbal descriptions of the animals as guests pass by colobus monkeys and chattering lovebirds. Guests can also feel biomaterials to get a sense for the animals in the building, including an African spoonbill beak, giraffe vertebra (as compared to human vertebra) and giraffe tail hair. Future plans include developing sensory tours for additional areas in the zoo.
To register for the guided sensory walkthrough, please visit the Sensory Tour page.
