As a part of the ADA 25 for 25 Cultural Access Project, the Lyric Opera of Chicago will focus on improving performances to be more accessible for the people with visual impairments. Lyric Opera has begun offering audio description for requested performances, and their next step is creating an Audio Description Subscription for their 2015-2016 Opera Season with a touch tour component. Audio description will still be available outside of the subscription by request. The Audio Description Subscription dates will be solidified in April, and talks regarding the touch tour component will begin in May with details solidified prior to the start of the 2015-2016 Opera Season, which begins in September 2015. The Audio Description Subscription will continue for every season beyond the 2015-2016 season.
