CHICAGOLAND BUSINESS LEADERSHIP NETWORK (CBLN)

Northern Trust is a founding business and steering committee member of the Chicagoland Business Leadership Network (CBLN) newly launched in 2015. As a business‐to‐business association of companies, CBLN, with the help of the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce Foundation, will facilitate the creation of workplaces, marketplaces and supply chains where people with disabilities are included. CBLN supports this by convening solution-focused forums to help businesses achieve these objectives. Northern Trust has expanded their role to provide support through ongoing board, committee and event involvement. Employment is a major area of focus.

FORMING PARTNERSHIPS TO FOCUS ON OPPORTUNITIES FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES

In honor of the 25th anniversary of the ADA, Northern Trust has entered into one new partnership with Chicagoland Entrepreneurship Education for People with Disabilities (CEED) at the University of Illinois Chicago (2015‐2016). CEED aims to bridge entrepreneurship with disability through the development of a comprehensive entrepreneurship education and training program for people with disabilities and service providers. Northern Trust serves on the business advisory panel, in the area of disability inclusion in business. Northern Trust will provide advice with curriculum and program development, and later to the program participants in the areas of business acumen, job skills and business plan development.
