DISABILITY RIGHTS MUSEUM ON WHEELS
The Disability Rights Museum on Wheels (DRMW) will be at the Field Museum East Parking Lot on Chicago’s beautiful lakefront Museum Campus at Burnham Harbor.
During the 25th anniversary year of the ADA, we have created a new initiative to help solve one of the chief barriers to employment for people with disabilities, the lack of a high school diploma. For individuals with spinal cord injuries (SCI), the challenges of finding an accessible general educational development (GED) program compounds this problem, creating a particular set of barriers that often result in underemployment. The Vocational Rehabilitation Program at RIC seeks to address these issues by offering accessible GED classes at our downtown location.
