SHAPE + THEORY
This Fall 2015, the SAIC Fashion Design Department will offer SHAPE + THEORY with a focus on DESIGN for ABILITY. Students enrolled in this course will focus on in-depth research into the body, disability, use of senses, technology and solution-based design. Partnering with organizations such as the Chicago Lighthouse, students will research and interview professionals in the disability community to gain awareness and depth. The results will range from actual wearables, technology focused objects, performance or video, and will be produced with the intention of being shared at an ADA 25 Chicago event, with a date to be determined in late Fall 2015.
