SEARCH FOR ADVENTURE
Search, Inc. is proud to partner with ADA 25 Chicago to recognize the 25th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Search will kick-off their participation in this important regional initiative at their signature annual fundraiser, Search for Adventure on May 9. Emily Harris, Executive Director of ADA 25 Chicago will join the awards presentation to honor the JJ’s List Disability Awareness Players with the 2015 Trailblazer Award, and recognize their important contributions on behalf of people with disabilities throughout the Chicagoland area.
CAREER SERVICES INITIATIVE
Beginning in 2015 Search, Inc. will launch a 24-month Career Services initiative for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities at the Planet Access Company warehouse. The primary impact of this project will be to expand competitive employment opportunities for adults with disabilities. Search’s long-term goal (over the next 3 years) is for the Planet Access Company workforce to be comprised of a minimum of 20% of individuals with disabilities in competitive, prevailing wage positions. The secondary goal is to establish long-term partnerships with businesses. Both will significantly advance employment of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the Chicagoland area.
