The Smart Museum of Art is participating in the ADA 25 for 25 Cultural Access Project by planning an upgrade of their website to be as accessible as possible. Although not all the pieces of this have been decided, the Smart Museum of Art hopes to incorporate many aspects of the WCAG 2.0 guidelines, including but not limited to: maintaining a consistent design and layout throughout the site, avoiding clutter, including written transcripts for any audio and visual media, avoiding multiple level menus, including a sitemap, avoiding making the width of content too large, any one link should have the same title, making the titles of the pages clear, making sure that the colors of the background and foreground are well contrasted, having a decent font-size and avoiding images with text on them. Their website revamp is already underway, and they are hoping to be finished with the first part of it by Fall 2015.
