NAHUEL PENNISI (DIRECT FROM ARGENTINA)

To recognize and celebrate the 25th anniversary of the ADA, Sylvia Hevia Productions will feature a performer with a disability for the first time. Nahuel Pennisi was born in Buenos Aires and is blind. Pennisi is part of the new generation of Argentinian folklorist musicians and in January 2009, as a result of winning first place in an unpublished songwriting contest, participated in the biggest festival of Argentine folklore: the Festival of Cosquín. During 2010 and 2011, Pennisi toured Argentina, where he began to perform his original songs. Last year, Pennisi began recording his first album and has just recently signed with Sony Records in Argentina.
